Monday
M.P.s were at home to E.S.B. The scores were close throughout and it finished a 36 each draw. The away team were 1 point ahead at halftime 21 to 20.The teams were level at 32 each going into the final round. E.S.B were winning 36 to 35 when they had their last question. This eventually went over to M.Ps and Ann Evans answered it to secure a draw. Ann led the scoring for the home side with 13.She was supported by Rick Catton and Dan Evans on 10 each. Southport Grasshopper played Exams. The home team won 5 rounds, the away team 1 and 1 was drawn. At the halfway stage it was 25 to 16. Tuesday
Ex Pats hosted a match against Mixed Blues who fielded just 3 players in their team. Ex Pats took the first round and then Mixed Blues went on to lead 19 to 18 at halftime. Here are this week’s results:
Aardvark Bold played their stablemates Wings. Again, Aardvarks were unable to field their usual 4 players. Wings won the opening round , the next was drawn and Wings went on to establish a lead of 28 to 11 at halftime. They consolidated their lead in the second half, winning 3 of the 4 rounds. John Richards scored 10 for Aardvarks . Keith Mulhearn with an impressive 20 was the leading scorer for Wings. Dag Griffiths scored a fine 15 and Tom Farley scored 10. Fishermen’s Rest were at home to Southport Grasshopper.. The away team won the first round and were in the lead by 25 to 18 at the halfway stage. However, Fishermen’s Rest won all 4 rounds in the second half to give them a victory of 44 to 39. Tuesday
There was another close match between Ex Pats and Cavallette. The home team fielded just 3 players. The first round was drawn. Aardvark Bold with just 3 players hosted a match against ExPats. It was 23 - 12 in the home team’s favour at the halfway stage. They went on to consolidate their lead scoring heavily in rounds 5 and 6 to give them a comfortable victory of 49 to 23. Dave Leyland with an excellent 22 was the home team’s top scorer and also joint top scorer this week. He was supported by John Richards on a good 14 and Andy Dean on 13. Fisherman’s Rest played Mixed Blues who didn't find the quiz to their liking. The score at halftime was 21 to 10 in favour of the home team. 7th 8th September 2026 - Week One
Welcome to a new season. There was only one match on Monday when Aardvark Bold played their former stable mates East Street Band.
Aardvark only had two players which made the match rather one sided. At halftime the score was 10-30 in favour of East Street Band. ESB continued to do well in the second half.
